When we called Father and Son to get a free quote, we were told that their rates are currently as follows for local moving services (considered to be moves within the New York or New Jersey area).
Though we’ll detail a little more about our quote process in the next section, the movers we spoke to seemed to be inconsistent on policies and expectations. Our experience with Father and Son’s communication was poor. However, unlike many full-service moving companies, Father and Son do not add fees on top of their hourly rates for these types of services, which can be beneficial if you’re moving with an older family member who cannot pack on their own. Though the company claims that they provide disassembly and unpacking services at “no extra charge,” this does not mean that the services are free-they are simply included in the cost that you pay per hour and will increase the overall bill that you receive for your moving services. Father and Son is able to provide both binding and non-binding estimates, so you may want to use Father and Son’s services if you aren’t sure whether you’ll be getting rid of additional items before your move. Loading is included as a standard service, and movers can complete a wide variety of tasks as they charge by the hour.

There are no outbound links informing customers where they can verify this award, and we were unable to find verification in our review. For example, Father & Son Moving & Storage claims to be the only company operating in both New York and New Jersey to have been named “Mover of the Decade,” but the moving company does not specify who named them this.
The company’s website is incredibly difficult to navigate-and while it is filled with claims of awards, we were unable to verify a large number of these claims. When it comes to transparency, Father and Son Moving definitely has room for improvement.
